  1) Who is the target audience for Doctor Who? Has it changed since 1963? C hildren were the main target audience for Doctor Who. 2) What audience pleasures are offered by Doctor Who - An Unearthly Child? Apply Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory to the episode. Make sure you provide specific examples from the episode to support your ideas. Doctor Who offers its audience a sense of escapism and entertainment away from your normal life. Personal Identity:   personally relating to something - seeing your lifestyle on screen. Personal Relationships:   takes the rela tionship between media texts and audiences a step further . Diversion (Escapism): Escapism and being entertained away from your life. Surveillance (Information / Facts):   Learning info that you did not already know. 3) What additional Uses and Gratifications would this episode provide to a modern 2020 audience?  An additional i would add would be relationship  because when watching a show like Doctor Who

His dark materials is a fantasy series which has a range of characters filmed as a narrative arc.  2) What genre (or genres) are suggested by this  His Dark Materials  trailer? fantasy,mystery and action. 3) What kind of characters and narratives are introduced in this trailer? Ensemble  characters as their is a range of characters.   4) What settings appear in the trailer? A forest and a historical city. 5) Who do you think the target audience for  His Dark Materials  is? Give reasons for your answer. Target audience may be young and prominently  young women and the main lead is a teenager and a girl.
